    EGR Removal / Smog (tailpipe only)

    I just recently moved out of California where the smog is only a tailpipe sensor and a couple of revs (without even getting out of the car). I was having trouble in Ca with my NOx output (from my fuel pressure probably being too low?) but was able to pass here with no problem.
    Now, I think my EGR is giving the spark plug wires a bit of heat soak after running the car for some time in the city. I was wondering what the downfalls to removing the EGR are. I prefer my car running at cooler temperatures and usually have it running right below the quarter temp mark. What are the effects on the tailpipe emissions of removing the EGR? Will I be able to pass the sniffer only?
    Any input from you guys always helps. I think I have been growing little by little into knowing this car.

    95 Firebird 3.4L V6.
    5-speed. Flowmaster muffler. CAI. Underdrive crank pulley. !A/C. TB Coolant Bypass. Holley Adjustable FPR. Proshaft One-piece Aluminum Driveshaft. So it's pretty much stock.
