I'm planning on picking up a junk yard motor next week to replace my high milage l36.. Its going in a 2001 Pontiac firebird with drive by wire .. Is there any thing I should be warned about or will it be a pretty easy swap . just throw my acc.. And uper /lower intake manifold on .or am I going to have bigger problems .

I believe everything should just swap over...

I'm pretty sure the L36 is a cable driven throttle body and the L26 is electronically controlled throttle. never done a swap like that, so I'm not sure if there will be any problems. I do know the L26 isn't good for much higher horsepower levels than 350.

You need to reuse your intakes, oil pan, rwd accessories, basically your just using the bock and heads form the l26

What he said. You're really only using the long block and swapping the rest.
