    3500 carnage

I had the car all tuned and ready for the track. Was heading over my buddies house to borrow his drag radials when I punched the throttle and it sounded like a bomb went off. Pulled over and saw the dreaded oil slick under the motor.
The bottom of the motor was wasted but unbelievable the new turbo cam, valves, springs, lower and upper intake were untouched. [/URL]
Already bought a used 3500, transferred all the parts off the old motor and will be installing tomorrow. There were no signs beforehand of any engine problems. I checked the knock sensor and found out it was dead. I'm hoping that's all it was.

Two of the rods were broken in the front of engine which tore through the block and oil pan.

The real important question is, how did the manifold and floor pan survive?

If that's all I had to do to bring you out of hiding I would have done it sooner.

Except for Wot cam and valve springs the bottom end is stock. The car is back together and running good. It's been a costly year so far added a gt35r turbo and had the trans rebuilt a month before the engine blew.

Not really hiding... Just busy with other things. I don't work for the oil drilling company anymore so the money bags I had before have long since gone flacid. Ive been doing fabrication work for a living now to pay bills and haven't had anymore time to work on my own project.

I was intending to return later, erase my old thread, and start a new build thread to recap on everything.

Wow! No kidding about a big boom. I'm glad that you had a spare block to transwer parts over to.
