    first run at a strip

Finally got to take my almost stock 97 camaro out to pueblo motorsports park last friday for their halloween drag race. I ran a 16.513 in 43 degree weather at night with a crap ton of wheel spin in 1st gear with a .487 and .320 r/t. I think it did pretty good other then the wheel spin. Considering I fix all the 'current' engine issues and my weak clutch what would it take to get my camaro into the 13s?

Quite a bit... LS cars don't run 13s without a good driver and some bolt ons at PMP. My built turbo 3.8 only ran 12.6.... On a built motor I couldn't get into the 14s. Like if you did full bolt ons, and a solid shot of nitrous, you MIGHT hit 13.9.

what did you do on your camaro suspension wise? and how come you were running 10.1 comp on a turbo motor? wouldn't it have been better to run a lower comp?

Uh, it was lowered on Summit racing springs, and kyb shocks. Sway bars. It was absolutely not a drag cacaring ran 10.1 because there's no reason not to, honestly. The higher compression makes more power with less boost, but more risk. Ppeople is run low comp for safety, but I wasn't on any ridiculous boost levels.

For suspension I had front/rear sway bars, tower brace, LCA's, rear track bar, poly tranny mount, maybe more that I can't remember. That was for running nitrous
