    4t65e failure, need help

Ok, so the trans in my 2000 bonneville let go the other night. I'm being told pilot bearing went bad. For right now, I'm looking into a used trans, but I've been told these had a huge issue with that bearing, and am kinda worried about putting a used trans in. I does have a warranty, so I'm not concerned with getting screwed right out of the box, but I want to make sure it lasts a while.

I've heard these had a lot of trans heating issues due to no trans cooler, would that have had anything to do with the bearing going bad?

The pilot bushing is a wear item that can be replaced.

4t65's have a good deal of issues. A lot of which stem from messed up torque converters. Without seeing the car I can't say for sure. But I wouldn't be surprised if something is astray with the converter.
