4.0 PCM's
I have installed a 2007 Mustang 4.0 with the 5R55S trans in my 31 Ford pickup. The local Mustang Performance shop suggested I go to an older PCM system as the 2007 requires the PCM, all wiring harness, gauge cluster, and a way around the PATS. My question is if I get an older PCM ( 96-99) from an Explorer what do I need other than the PCM, eng/trans harness, and the dash harness to get the Diagnostic Plug and ignition switch? Also will that PCM run my transmission? Thanks for any advise

I'm honestly not sure as I'm not a mustang guru but I do know my moms old 06 mustang was supposedly a good one for a ECM. I think they meant older mustang ECM and not explorer. The 5 speed never came in the explorer as far as I know and I don't see how a 4 speed Tcm would control a 5 speed trans.
