Wink 00 Camaro rims on an fbody 96

Bought some chrome 00 camaro rims and attempted to install them on my 96 firebird, was aware of fitting problems on the rear of the car so just tried to install the fronts to make sure the front wouldn't be a problem and noticed the front axle as well didn't seem snug, it was as if the rim wouldn't fit on the hub properly because the wheel was to thick, all lug nuts installed properly and tight but went for a test drive and had a pretty scary noise which sounded like the wheel bearings, installed old rims and everything is still OK! Wondering if I just need to shave down the middle part of the rim that is supposed to fit on the hub and if anyone else had ever had problems installing these rims on the front of a 93-96 fbody as well, really want these rims to work just hoping just basic modification is needed to get them to fit

Shave the middle of the rim down. Its pretty common.
