Gotta love factory magic! I saw 25lbs on my gauge once with the stock L26 long block, other than that raced at 22lbs usually. Dang tough little thing, haha.

I say screw all this though and kick the hippies out of that short bus and build a twin turbo big block for it Then do something like this:

I just saw you went the V8 route. I have a sadness...deep in my heart...my teal raspmobile brother is no more!

Anyway, it's all fine and dandy. I'll keep carrying the torch!

Yeah, I want to go fast, not fast for a little engine, lol. Gotta ditch the plates though Marty has my old G-Force T5 in that turbo machine now, so part of the Rasp Mobile's soul lives on

Noooo i broke the 150k mile stocker. I guess i didnt care to be nice to it since i got yours. The GOOD G force unit is alive and well. I gave the stock T5 an autopsy and it was whining before it died because the torrington bearing between the output and input shaft got beat and flattened the rollers. In any gear except 1:1 4th gear, that bearing is turning and it was whistling as the rollers did more skidding then rolling.

It ruins the machined surface in the input shaft center and trashes the gear. Then good old 3rd gear showed multiple tooth fractures which failed it like always. No other gearset had a crack to be found. Its odd how most of the box is fairly tough (even as a 3.75 first) but 3rd gets its ass kicked. Even the overstressed input to cluster gearset was mint and it takes 3 gears worth of hits down the 1/4 mile.

    ^It doesn't take a boosted V6 to do that to 3rd either, that's what's crazy.

Do you have a torque arm relocation mount or a tunnel mount torque arm on there? Figured it'd be something to help prolong the life of your tailshaft.

Im up to my elbows right now in the doomed to fail 7 5/8 rearend experiment. True Trac 351 dollar posi, solid pinion spacer, Moser main cap studs torqued to 75 ft lbs, .003 backlash and a PERFECT gear pattern and a girdle rearend cover. Its the most perfectly set up 7 5/8 a guy can do minus aftermarket axles. Will it survive flat foot rev limiter powershifts next year???? Im not going to hold back my driving style one bit and if it breaks, it breaks. LOL

Nope i dont but its on the to-do list. Its so hard on the case like it is stock. It took one night at the track to damage that front torrington and i knew something went wrong when it started whistling the next day. That was with GM synchromesh lube in it but it WAS a high mile tranny that i didnt take all the way down.

Gave it bronze fork pads and the steel cluster support and let it fend for itself. It had shitty synchros anyways so no great loss. Anyone want a 40k mile 94 Camaro T5? I could convert it to the later speedo generator with parts from this blown one. Ill sell it cheap. I think its mint condition. 3.75 first like always.

Everyone say a prayer for the guts i just loaded into this 7 5/8. Shiny and pretty and doomed to get the crap beat out of it. Its a stock good condition factory GM gearset thats actually 7 5/8 inch. Maybe the posi will survive and be good for resale when the whole works scatters.

G force claims the stock output shaft flexes too much thru the gearset and contributes to the 3rd failure even more by allowing the gearset to spread since 3rd is the worst supported gearset at the end of the shaft where things get wiggly as it couples into the back of the input. It would be interesting to retrofit an aftermarket output on a stock gearset and abuse it to the failure point. No money lost as the shaft would always survive.
