Just throwing this out there - I ran across a guy on another board (GMTNation.com) named efi-diy that might be willing to make adapter plates.

    GTO: 2.97 2.07 1.43 1.00 .84 .57

Not sure on the T5 ratios.
The GTO gear ratios are a bit steep. The ratios in my TKO 5-speed put me at 4700 rpms on the next up-shift if Im shifting at 7'000rpms. It ought to be pretty good for a turbocharged powerplant though since turbos like to be loaded.

    The tko600 ratios are...
    1rst 2.87, 2nd 1.89, 3rd 1.28, 4th 1.00, 5th .64 (I would prefer a 5th ratio of .72)
Gonna be quiet again for a little while, so show some patience. It will be worth the wait.
    ...I promise you

Hmmm, this is pretty interesting. Turbocharged 3800+T56+good handling RWD platform would be a nice project.

Subscribed What clutch did you end up getting? I know you posted it was a centerforce but is it a T5 clutch? I am hopefully picking up a LT1 T56 next weekend and I don't think I'll be able to do an adapter like you are useing with the LT1 T56, but the clutch info would be good if you don't mind shareing. I also found these 2 adapters and figured I'd post them up here if anyone else is interested.

The thing about the adapter that lets you keep the bellhousing from the t5, is that is it for the chevy t5 pattern or the ford t5 pattern, because I believe that our cars use the ford pattern.

It's a T5 clutch. The T-56 and T-5 from our cars are the same spline count.

4th gen V6 cars T5's do use a Ford bellhousing pattern and that addapter is not a ford pattern. But lucky for you a S10 T5 bellhousing from anything besides a 4.3l would bolt a T56 to a 3.8l. The only thing im not sure of is if the input shaft will be were it's suposed to be. Most likely it should but just not sure.

I've been looking at the t45 and Tremec swap lately. We need a reliable/affordable trans for the track...

Alright so I guess I should put my user title as Captain Slow since it takes so long for me to finally accumulate parts and put things together. I'm draining tranny fluid tonight (you know, the stuff that helps with the couplings and banging and such?). Then I'm letting the automatic trans drain.

I've got a few things on my plate, probably gonna take a week to do it all, but MEH! I think I'll have this thread closed soon and open a part deux so it is cleaned up a little.
