PCMforless Website Design Contest - Graphics/Images

Website Graphic Design Contest! Handy with photoshop? We are looking at changing the look of our website. Click "read more" for more information and your chance to win a $250 gift certificate. We've grown tired of the current look of our website, which is a problem because we lack any real artistic skills here! Because of that we have decided to open a contest up to try to get some ideas flowing. You are free to change the following images in anyway you'd like. Notice that the size in pixels must remain the same and the file types must also stay the same!

A high quality copy of our logo can be found here

You are free to change the colors used and any image on our website! We also have some great photos on our facebook page, be sure to check those out! To enter email new images to [email protected].

The winner will be announced October 17, 2011 on our facebook page. If we are still getting entries at that time we will extend the contest to October 28, 2011.

First place will win a $250 Gift certificate
Second Place will win a $50 Gift certificate

As a person who went to school for Graphic Design, and has a degree in Graphic Design, I hate to see promotions like this.

I'm sorry if this offends, but we spend A LOT of money in school, and learn our trade. I see all the time people who hold contests, or promotions for design work or company logos, and they offer such small rewards. A real design layout, implementation, design, takes HOURS and HOURS of work and revisions.

These contests take a real job away from a designer. We earn our money with our set rates, logo design is easily something that can cost $500-$1000 just for a logo, because that logo is used to identify your company, and you will get a lot of use out of it. Website design can easily be over $1000 because you have to adapt designs for multiple pages and functionality and working on different browsers and resolutions and keeping designs fresh.

/rant. I hope you get good submissions for your website.

I was on it just yesterday and noticed that the menu bar and links get a little lost in the website.
