removing trans with out bell housing?

can the T5 speed be pulled out with the bell housing still bolted to the motor? I thought i could just unbolt the trans from the bellhousing and putt it that way but its not anting to slide back. im not sure if im just not doing something right or if it all has to come down together?

I've never heard of it being done that way. Why are you against pulling the bell housing?

im not against it its just easer to get to the bolts on the trans vs the bell housing it would also be a little less weight. So i now know i will have to pull the bell housing so hopefully i can have the trans on the ground tonight when i get off work. Then and only then will i be able to lol at the shrapnel that my clutch left inside.
