What's the fastest street tire pass here?

Just curious about something, anyone know what the fastest 1/4 et that's been pulled here on real street tires (not dr's)? I know my car can run 12's with a street tire, but I'm thinking about seeing how far down into the 12's I can go before I go back to slicks. Kinda wish there was a way to figure out what the fastest et for a 3800 f-body on street tires is, but I don't want to start one of those "not everyone posts on the internet" arguments again

The tire I plan to run if I start chasing this is this one here:
    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BFG-51487/
As you can see, it's basically a 28" street tire, pretty wide, it'll fit my 077's, pretty cheap too. Kind of a balloon tire though, not a fan of the bubble look on these cars When I was at the track last doing my tuning runs, I was having some fun with my 255 proxis4's, I don't bracket race competitively, and usually just like going to the track on saturday nights for time runs. But after a while that gets old, kind of want a new challenge.

i'll tell ya if I get pressured into running the car at CSCS this weekend...and if it's running

And screw em, if they aren't in NHRA records, and don't post on the internet, they don't exist. Think about it, in hockey/baseball they measure who has the fastest slapshot/fastball...fastest slapshot is 116mph I believe...a friend of a friend of a friend of a friends friends wife's half removed cousin Johnny down the street might have 117mph slapshot, he doesn't get clocked he doesn't exist...fastest shot in the world sits at 116mph until proven otherwise...I hope you catch my drift.

and, have you looked into nitto invo's...apparently all the vette guys around here are raving about them and how well they hook up...I opted for the extreme 555's only because I didnt think a 260 treadwear on the invo's was suitable for DD with my car/habits. I would've really loved to snag a pair though.

If you run those tires you listed. Dont expect to be welcomed at most track's. They rip the hell out of the tracks laid rubber. I know with street tires here they make you line up out of the groove.

Dammit most of my street tire runs havent been in the old sixxer camaro. The fastest the sixxer went on 275-35-18 Michelin Pilots was 13.2 before i nailed down the whole turbo tune thing. My Trans Am went 11.01 @ 129 on Grand Am 275-60-15's a few weeks ago and the same car went 11.45 on Toyo Proxes 255-18's. What a hoot. I swear its almost funner than slicks cuz nothing breaks and you have to DRIVE your car with some brains. LOL

Plus the crowd in the stands thinks your a superhero when things crack loose on the 1-2 shift and you almost hit the wall from trying too hard. Aaaah, good times!

I'm pretty sure I ran 14.0x on street tires. I'ld have to search through old post to find out exactly.

Didn't Shawn run like 13.8 on street tires? I also feel like someone with a turbo ran low 13s on street tires, but I'm too lazy to search.

If were talking about cheating with any tire that managed to pull off a DOT rating because somebodys wife gave the DOT inspector a BJ, then i went 9.55 last weekend on a 275 M/T drag radial. The real challenge is trying to drive a full tread BF Goodrich radial T/A and keeping it from erupting in smoke when the 1-2 shift gives em a love tap and your pointing at the wall. Now thats some good racing! LOL

    That just sounds unsafe.

And these still look like a tire to me.

They seem to hold up pretty good. Drove on them to the track and back, and around town.

I thought this thread was about stone stock street tires? Sure any DR is a street tire but big deal. I can run within 3/10 ths of my best ET on those "street tires". Retitle this thread "Whats the fastest pass you can posibly do with any tire" then.

I'm sure this thread is about street tires and not stone stock street tires, but definitely not DOT drag radials.

Nitto Invo's are junk. I'm not sure why all the vette guys are so in love with them.

If you want a hooking sticky street tire look into a Khumo XS, Nitto NT05, Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 or Hankook Ventus R-S3. All are brutally sticky street tires.
