    Dyno'd the GT

Last summer I dyno'd my car at ZZP without the heads and put down 180. This was on a ZZP 1.0 PCM. Since adding the heads, I dropped 2 tenths in the quarter.

PnP heads, stock valves, milled .030" (9.9:1 CR)
    ER rockers
    105#'s
    HV3
    PLOG
    2.5" OR DP
2.5" cat-back, thrush res, stock muflers
    ZZP HVTB
    4" FWI
    180*
    WP UD pulley
    ZZP trans w/3500 TC

Dyno'd in at 197.7 whp @5500 and 225 tq. actual. With WCF, 190 whp and 217 tq. Matt didn't find any hidden power, but the tweaks he made were definitely noticed on the ride home. No more nosing over before the 2-3 shift. We'll just have to see if the weather holds off for Saturday to put up some better times.

First pull untouched was 197, 26* timing, 13.3 AFR. Matt saw 2-3* KR which he was concerned about. He richened it up to 13.1 to clear the KR, but lowered HP to 195. He then left the AFR and added a couple degrees of timing with no change. Baffled, he put the AFR back to 13.3 and jumped back to 197. This was on 89 octane. If I had 93, I'm sure we could have leaned it out more and squeeked out 200, but for now I'm happy. Headers are coming in the spring, and then I'll put it back on for some 200's.

197.7 whp @5500 and 225 tq. is pretty good. I was wondering; how much it costs for a single dyno session like yours? I think it is time for me to do this.

Impressive #'s. I wonder what a cam and that HV# insert would produce in lieu of those rockers?

I had 3 pulls and 15 total mins of actual tuning, cost me $133. I think people get scared when they see the $75/hr. tuning cost. It isn't a running hour, they actually keep track how much time they are 'tuning' your car.

As far as a cam, I really want to be the first Grand Prix to run Abbott's NA cam, but I can't justify the labor and included costs to cam it. And with the low amount of people running Lance's cams, you don't find them for sale used. $300 is alot to me for a camshaft.

Best this year is a 14.64, hoping for better times tomorrow. Weather permitting.

Yeah, but I would never by one new, and thats why I cant find an Abbott one used. I can get GT2's all day for 175-225, but I don't want that cam.
