Woohoo, took the Suzuki out for a test ride today! Yes the seat looks stupid, I'm still trying to figure out what to do about that... I want to use the stock pan so everything still hinges and locks like stock, got some ideas.

Also wish I had $13k sitting around to buy this Honda chopper, I'm almost 6'3", pretty big bike!

Man I'd feel like I was falling off of that Suz.
Definitely a nice looking bike for its age.

Wish I had mod powa to sticky this thread, I should PM the fish guy...

What do ya mean "falling off"? lol, been thinking about that yesterday and I can't figure it out

I put the other seat back on, the one with the hump on the back. I pulled the foam off the stock seat to look at the pan and it's all twisted, has some cracks It's off a 1977 bike that must've been dropped or wrecked, explains why I had a hard time getting it to fit right when it showed up. Not sure what I'm going to do for a nifty seat now, these pre-'79 pans are getting to be more rare than chicken lips.

So I've moved on to gear shopping, I've always worn textile Joe Rocket stuff but I'm thinking about some 2-piece leathers with liners. Thinking about LeatherUP's Vulcan brand, I know it's cheap stuff but I don't think I'll like leather so I don't want to go all out the first round.

Thinking about this jacket, and these pants (with the velcro sliders removed, the cases would rub on this bike before I ever got a knee down that far, LOL)

Kinda like them because I won't feel out of place riding either of the 2 bikes, the styling is nice and clean

Looks much better that way. When I said falling off I meant because the bike is very flat on top. Not much done to keep you "in the bike" if that makes sense.

Signed up for a track day fundamentals class riding super moto bikes. I'm crazy excited. Here's a video showing an example.

Well, the 250f was fun, but a 450f is much more fun I sold the 250f and picked up a barely used 2009 Kawasaki KX 450f Monster Edition for dirt cheap. It has less than 10 hours on it...the engine casings nor the frame even have boot wear on them and the header pipe hasn't even turned bluish purple yet. This thing is an absolute beast for power too. Not only does it have twice the horse power of my 250f (24hp vs 48hp), its also fuel injected making it much more reliable, easy to start, and better throttle response. The Monster Editions came with black plastics, Monster graphics, and green anodized hubs. I already bought a used set of stock plastics that way I can put the black ones on the shelf and keep them in good shape. I have a new set of graphics for the cheap plastics too, but I haven't had time to put them on yet

nice bike man! I'm DYING for a yz or wr450 in Supermoto trim..lately they've been selling for like 2g in dirt trim too so I've kind of been considering that route also. we'll see when the time comes.

had a bike added to the stable 2 days ago,
    2011 ninja 250 w/ 16k miles

got this sucker for 2500! complete steal. it has been in right side slide explaining the fender scratches but other then that its great. I talked the guy down to 25 because it had been sitting for a month and was reallyyyy slow and laggy when i test rode it. can just tell it could use a good carb cleaning and tune up because he didn't re-jet it when he put the pipe on. soon as the bike warms up, it runs PERFECT. plenty of power (for a 250) and whatnot..so we picked it up and brought it straight to a local shop and $350 later her carbs are clean as a whistle, oil nice and fresh and she runs like a beaut!
she'll be a great learner bike for Alex

Those things have a cult following, insane gas mileage I guess.

I'm parking the Yamaha for a bit. That bike is only fun when you're ripping on it, and the 28 year old suspension and brakes kicked my butt the other day when I went down. All the parts are out there to make it modern and fresh, but it's a 2 grand venture (the RPM rear shock is $1000 by itself), and the transmission still needs a rebuild (common second gear problem), which pumps it up to around 2500, what I paid for the bike. Still would need the front fairing fixed and painted, up to about 3k now. Thinking I'm done with it, not sure yet though. I would have a pretty slick machine when done, all new basically. I'm kind of out a motorcycle again, the Suzuki is also dead, stator went out the other day.

    Yay old bikes!!!!

I have been riding mine nearly every day since April. Was filling up today and noticed I hit the 4k mile mark this morning. GTO has had less than 1k put on it since I bought the Harley lol. I really need to get a new phone so I can take some pics though.

AB I'm glad to hear you're enjoying riding so much, I'm the same man.. I bought my car in August last year and have since put 2000 miles on it lol. My harley before it was stolen had something like 16k and my current cbr1000 has a touch over 8000.

    bikes are the shit, period.

as for Big Steve, man thats crappy to hear. Unfortunately thats what comes with older stuff..get yourself a nice 05+ sportbike or something.. and yeah the ninja 250 do have a cult following, especially around here. they get like 70mpg in the city and about 40 on the highway. fun little thing too, its real small and nimble and can really just scoot around on it having a blast.
