Don't get me wrong, I really do like the Yamaha R-series and the gixxers but I just don't think I'd ever use them to even 75% of their potential. I'm not going to pay a premium for something I'm never going to enjoy, you know? /Overly reasonable and boring old man

I probably won't either but I know it's there when I want it. The R6 only makes about 20hp more than the FZ6R. The CBR 600 only makes about 20 more HP than the VFR 800 like yours. But they're lighter and many other things.

What I really want is a GSXR 600 :$ I loved the 750 I used to ride but I don't need a 750. 120 hp is plenty enough for me to get along with and I'm not gonna pull the front wheel up every time I hit the gas haha.

I can get a brand new FZ6R for $6500 but I still want a GSXR or YZF R series...

I use progressive with a USAA discount. I pay like 76 a month for full coverage. I'm not sure what the calculation is when going from cruiser to sportbike, but I know its a hell of a lot more expensive to fix my bike in an accident then a sports.

It being a Harley has a lot to do with that haha.

An 07 GSXR 600 is $95 per month on full coverage. It's only $5000 though so I could come close to buying it straight out.

well think of it this way..... My bike is a helluva lot more expensive to fix then yours should an accident happen.

True story but my guess is that they're banking on me being an idiot and wrecking it. I'm just gonna save up and buy one straight out I think... Frame sliders will keep fairing damage to a minimum if I laid it down and a full fairing set is only about $500 lol

    Thanks gents!

FWIW: I'd kill to have a Wide Glide... They're so sexy...

Oddly enough, I fit better on an R1 than I do an R6 because of the .8 inch lower seat height. I fit even better on a GSXR as all 3 sit at 32 inches versus the 33.6 of the R6. No idea why the seat is so high on them =\ I feel more balanced on a liter bike as well but I know I don't need that kind of power...

Well the previous owner cut/welded the kick stand because he had it SLAMMED and a stock stand wouldn't let it lean over at all. I raised the ride height closer to stock because I like being able to do wheelies and take turns hard, but didn't get a longer kick stand.

So that being said I have to lean my bike over pretty far before it sits on the kickstand. What happened was I didn't kick it down the whole way and by the time I had it leaned over far enough to fold the kick stand up it was leaned over way too far for me to correct it with one leg on the ground.

Good news is it has race rails and I put it down as slowly as possible as I was trying to catch it hahah. So no harm done. Kinda glad it happened in my driveway rather than a parking lot somewhere, I would've looked like a boss.

Well ain't that a pile of suck-ass? So no real damage done? Oh, and I hate people that slam and/or install extended swingarms on bikes meant for the street. Makes me want to go all Road Rash on 'em.

yup, race rails aren't even scratched so all is well. And yes, stretched/slammed bikes to me are hideous and a track only thing... it is pretty insane to see stretched bikes do wheelies though... so high.

I should visit this forum more often

Looking up, I didn't buy the C50, went to the stealership to pick it up and he said "Oh, by the way, you didn't qualify for the 0% interest, we did get you setup with another loan though" I'm thinking *yay... whatever, I want a new bike*. Hands me the papers to sign, and I see something, 27.5% interest. "You can keep it, I'm not stepping foot in this building again". So I left, they pissed my old man off too and lost the sale on the '12 'Busa. So they lost 2 bike sales over that, sucks to be them! My old man went to another dealership and bought a zx14. I rode it, ONCE. Too much for me! I goosed it one time and the front end was skipping around, and before my head cleared I was doing almost 100 on a back country road full of potholes Not my kind of ride! Pics below.

But I did get myself another bike, it's a 1985 FJ1100, clean machine! The power is just right for what I wanted Since the picture I've gotten a Corbin seat with red piping, and a tank bag. It's missing the chin spoiler, but I plan to buy a new one for it next month hopefully. It's a sport touring bike, 125hp, comfortable as can be. Taking a 3 hour ride north with it next month to go to wild waves in Federal Way and hit some roller coasters Been commuting to work and back a lot lately on the bikes, saving gas moolah. The Suzuki is still here, but it's not a cafe racer anymore. I took it back to stock and put the Vetter fairing back on, re-wiring all kinds of stuff on it. I'm going to use it as an all-weather commuter bike, and let it take the dust and dirt from where I work and leave the FJ in the garage all clean and shiny

I will say I'm a tad bummed at not being able to keep up with Dad on his Ninja, 75hp on a motorcycle is a huge difference. I've had the occasional thought of punching another motor out to 1350cc and throw some megacycle cams, better rods, forged pistons, and flatslides at it, but honestly I like it stock too, it's quiet, comfortable, and rock solid reliable...

My old man's new bike, he's already talked about turbocharging it.... he's insane.

    And mine:

I love 'em both. Wouldn't mind getting a newer sport tourer with some more horses...
