I'm currently bike-less, really hate having to borrow dad's bikes. The last I owned that I really liked was my old 750 twin virago with straight pipes, but the ignition and starter died, and I just got tired of working on it. This is the only pic I have of it, it was used in the CL ad, cardboard is thanks to the leaking case, didn't replace the gasket when I opened it to look at the starter gears. It had a custom red metallic paint, debadged of course. Next bike will be a first year wing, or a last year 1100 virago.

A black porkster is what you've been bragging about owning, so I imagine that your sig and all the stories might be true?

I have a 79 Kawasaki KZ650 SR. I need to get better pics of it now that I have it running like a raped ape. Saving for new tires, a quarter fairing from a KZ1000 Z1R, and adjustable shocks for the rear so I can keep it at a lowered stance.

Just out of question, I see a lot of aged bikes. What's everybody's fascination with older style scoots?

Here are a few of my rides.

The black bike is a '78 Kz1000 with a Gsxr swingarm, Zx6D rear rim (160/60-17 tire) and police front forks running a Zx11C rim (120/70-17). The frame is unmodifies. The engine is untouched except for re-jetted carbs and the V&H 4-1 exhaust.

The yellow is a '00 Ducati M750. The slip-ons are Kerkers with no tags, the carbs have been rejetted. It also has a tail chop and clip-ons.

My current project which has been a off/on affair for 5 years is a '76 Kz900. I have mono-shocked it, will be running USD '94 Gsxr750 forks. The rims will be the stock Gsxr750 front rims and a 6" Busa rim in the rear. I have a big block, 1428cc 13.5:1 pistons, bigger cams, 38mm Mikuni RS flatslides, and all the other associated goodies to go with those on the shelf.

I'm halfway surprised to see so many older bikes. Kind of cool to see.

for me it was the $$$$ and my love for vintage bikes. I have right at $1100 bucks in my bike as it sits. That is w/ the initial cost of the bike and tuneup I have done on it to get it running right. The set of tires I am looking at going to cost me around $350. So for $1500 I have a ready to ride bike. I also grew up w/ my dad owning Honda CB 750's-1100's, and a few kawi's. This allows me to have someone looking over my shoulder as I work on it. Yeah I could have saved and put a down payment or spend $5000 on something, but I don't want to spend that much and I didn't want another monthly payment.

Here are a few pics of some of my bikes. Red bike I built in 2002, it has the rear suspension deleted, foot clutch, jocky shift and a 200 rear tire. I hand hammered the tank from scratch. Made the exhaust, caddy pedals, seat and just about everything from scratch. I did all the paint work myself also, it's bass boat flake with a HOK candy on top.

The black bike is a 2001 sporster with a buell motor, front forks, wheels and brakes. It has twin plug SE heads, lightened flywheels, and andrews cams too.

I love oldschool, my favorite bike is a 6cyl honda cbx with 6 carbs. My old Virago was affordable, and pulled really hard. It was bored out, had the heads shaved a bit, had upgraded twin carbs, and the fancy paint of course. It's like cars, I prefer oldschool muscle over this new plastic crap that's on the market today. Same with bikes, I like the original hotrod goldwings. Honda Goldwings weren't designed as touring bikes, but that's what they are today.
