Well done going with an LS3. Sorry to see your Z go like that but at least you're ok. JSB is sexy; I saw a JSB Z06 (didn't know you could get a C6 Z in JSB at the time) and it was gorgeous. Def take it slow like you said with intake, exhaust and tune first. Appearance wise, you don't need much, but a set of rear Z06 fenders would give you that delicious fat rear end

    It's a great motor
    yup...

for example. I have a buddy that bought a 07 C6 (ls2 for those who dont know)

Bone stock it put down a whopping 340rwhp.

This 09 C6 I just mentioned, bone stock it put down 425rwhp. These numbers were on the same dyno.

425rwhp is not very common at all for a LS3 car. That is a drivetrain loss of 5hp. The LS3 is a good engine but it isn't making 475+HP from the factory.

425 is what the LS3 is rated at from the factory at the fly right? So drop 30-50 hp for drivetrain loss? 375ish would sound about right? How many cubes is the LS3?

Most see around 380-390 rwhp. I would like to put mine on a dyno just to see. Put on the corsa extreme exhaust tonight. Sounds good!

I dont care what they dyno....they run .2-.3 quicker in the 1/4 than an LS2 C6 typically. It generally requires an intake and tuning for an LS2 to match or beat an LS3 in the 1/4.

No LS3 C6 dynod a legitimate 425 rwhp stock, lol. There have been a select few that have put down at the 400 mark, but I think those dynos are generous, because they dont run any quicker at the track than the guys who put down 385-390 in their manuals and 370-375 in their autos.

I think the LS3 is 375 cubes or something like that....6.2l

Corsa Extremes are the only version of Corsa I can stand. The others are too european sounding (high pitched) for a corvette. My buddy has the Extremes on his C6 with longtubes and a mild cam (now with an A&A supercharger as well).

Yes. They are way to quiet at idle. I could handle it a little louder

And intake will be next. I have to think about how I want to go about this car with a warranty and all. Lol that's new news to me

Do basic things like intake, exhuast, etc. I would definatly stay away from engine modding (juice, boost, any kind of parts). I beleive they will replace anything that you have not messed with. So if somthing like intake or exhuast goes bad, should be a peice of cake to replaec on your own. If your engine screws up your fucked lol

Heed these words....STAY AWAY FROM VARARAM.

Their intakes for the C6 are beyond shit. Do some searches on Corvette Forum for pictures and documentation of how terrible quality is. They warp to the point of letting debris bypass your filter.

Nice upgrade, and some lucky driving! I got to see Vararam's prototype 5th gen intake... It looked like it was plastic welded together.
