    First night at the track

Had my first night at the drag strip with a couple of the local clubs on a TNT night at SGMP. I managed to get 8 runs in, 3 1/8th and 5 1/4. I'll get some pics and the whole timeslips up later. Ran these in the GTP, mods: PLOG, 3" catless DP, !u-bend, 180* thermo, AL 104s, shift kit. These times bad? I think that everyone was running slower than they usual do tonight.

    1/4: 60 ft
    15.444 2.85
    15.403 2.278
    15.308 2.270
    15.342 2.309
    15.324 2.290

    1/8 60 ft
    9.949 2.32
    10.050 2.381

Seems a bit on the slow side.

    What was your average-ish MPH

Do you know what the density altitude was?

I'm not sure of the density of the altitude but my 1/4 mph were 90-91 and the 1/8 were 69-71

Forgot to add that it did feel pretty humid last night, a few guys were saying that they were running slower than usual. A guy with a 10 sec Civic was running 11s I believe.

Can't believe that you fell for that. Civic's can't do 10's. God wont allow that.

Those aren't that good. I can run 15.3'[email protected] consistent in my GT with basic bolt on's.
You should be in the mid to low 14's.

Need to get better launch's. 2.1's and lower should help ya a little.

3.5" FWI, might go back to an open cone, or modify the stock box for a cone and open it up some. I know those are bad times for this car and my mods, I did find a couple of small vacuum leaks that I fixed but now the car peaks at 5 psi, should be making more right?

And on some of the launches I was holding the car at 2000 rpm and not spinning off the line. Then again I don't really know the best way to launch these cars, the suspension is the stock 120k suspension with GMPP swaybars and front STB.

You should be in the 14's I mean I am non boosted and running the same times as you with about same mods.

Launch at where you will not spin off the line. Roll into the throttle if you cant launch hard.

Just next time ya go play around with the launch RPM's.

Well. I have seen a stock 2.8 Camaro do low 15's (100whp mind you) with good short times
