    LS1 V8 swap in my V6 camaro

Ok i just buy a wreked Formula Ls1 V8..and i want to swap the mechanic in my 1996 camaro V6..both cars are manual...

So now my questions...i understand that i will need a new gauge pod since the camaro in mechanical gauge and the bird electronique...does the gauge fit in the camaro dash? does a v8 camaro 1998 gauge fit in the 1996 dash?

i am thinking about swaping the complete dash in the camaro with the bird one but thats a big time consuming job!!!

    any sugestion?
plus i remember seeing a site that it was specialised in that kind of swap and showing everything you needed!!anybody knows?

I'm pretty sure this is'nt as easy as drop the engine in and it runs, lots of parts too be changed but at least you have a donar car. Good luck.

I realize your new and all, but try searching, there are many threads on this topic. I'm not sure about the dash because I don't know if they changed in 98 or 97. Look for links in the threads you find when you search. And if your swapping an engine and transmission and probably other big things, whats a little dash to you? Seems like that could be your smallest problem, if a problem at all.

he might need a k member that drops the motor an inch or two though

The only need for a new hood would be to maintain the 98+ style filter box.

3800rs avoided that by using the slp intake for the lt1 cars.
