'95 Lumina coolant leak - (need help finding a part)

alright, this is my first post here, stumbled on this forum while searching, and i need some help finding a part. and possibly some tech advice. i drive a '91 Mustang 5.0, but i'm in the process of repainting it now. during this time i am driving a family member's '95 lumina (3.1L SFI V6). well the car has always had problems with the cooling system thanks to that fuckin dexcool shit. the car was steaming this morning, which prompted me to open the hood. it was blowing coolant onto the crossover on the exhaust. i found out this is due to a crack in a heater fitting and not the lower intake gasket (amazing huh?). i need help locating a place where i can puchase this fitting, and also what it entails to replace it? i rebuilt my mustangs engine from the shortblock up, and do all the work on it myself so im not too concerned about tearing into a motor - however the 5.0L mustang is the only type of motor i have ever done any extensive work on.

here are some pictures of the part i am looking for, let me know where (if) i can get it and what all is involved in R&R'ing the throttle body.

here is where it is located on the motor (excuse my Paint skills lol)

thanks, im sure i'll have more questions aswell.

alright, well i found the part on ebay, im going to stop by the dealership tomorrow. they should carry it.

so how does the hose connect to it? looks like it uses some sort of "quick connect" that im not familiar with.

also, how hard is it to replace the thermostat, i suppose i may as well do that while im in there anyway since its gummed up with dexcool.

how the hell do you get the god damn throttle body off this car, it looks likes theres a double threaded stud on the bottom that holds the heater inlet line on, but i cant get that line out of the way to get to the bolt because of the fuckin exhaust crossover. whoever designed these piece of shit engines need to be punched in the face. how retarded do you have to be where you design something that you have to take 15 parts off the motor to get one simple part off?

im so frustrated with this pile of shit right now.

LOL, not used to tight spaces? Imagine stuffing enough turbo under one of those hoods to run low12/high13's

Easiest way is to cut the coolant lines with some tin snips, and bypass the TB with some lines from your local parts store.

low 13's, high 12's....thats what my mustang runs now.

well anyway, i got the TB off today, let me mind cool off and went at it fresh this morning...got down to the part thats causing issue. started spinning it out and it felt like it was coming easy. well, the part was so deteriorated that the threaded shank snapped off of the piece when i turned it. so now im left with a gaping hole right before my thermostat great.

im just going to tell the person to have it pulled down to a mechanic the family has been using for 20 years and let him dick with it. i dont know how the hell they will manage to get out of this one. gonna cost a ton more than likely. not enough access to drill it out and re-tap and i dont know if an easy out could even be used. needless to say, i dont have the patience or tools to go about i anymore.

Yeah, years of neglect can be quite a pain when it's you working on the car.

I'm having trouble seeing what the part is in the pic. If it's the fitting that goes into the t-stat housing, most years are not threaded, but loosely pressed in.

Here's a video of the 3400 turbo running a Mustang (second race) would have won if 1st and 2nd gear weren't a smoke show...
