The physical fitness standards for the Air Force are currently based on a 100 point system. You get evaluated on your cardiovascular fitness (run), strength endurance (push-ups and situps), and body mass (waist measurement). Here is the breakdown out of 100 points:

    Waist Measurement - 30 points
    Run - 50 points
    Push-ups - 10 points
    Situps - 10 points

The amount of points you get in each category changes based on age. Under the age of 25, you gain your max score in each category with the following:

    Waist Measurement - <32.5"
    Run - 9:36 or under
    Push-ups- 62 or greater
    Sit-ups - 55 or greater

You must get 75 points total or greater to pass the air force physical fitness test. So, there is no minimum run time per se, but you'll need to have a run time that is enough to get you at least 25 points, assuming you max push ups, sit ups, and waist measurement. For males under 25, that is a run time of 15:48. Refer to the following chart:

Basic Training req's that you can run 2 miles in 18 minutes. Its a joke, you get 7 weeks of training to bring your time down... Trust me, you will have no issues with the run. The PT tests that they are giving the scores for is for your yearly Fit-test after you getting into the real AF =)
