I unfortuantly don't know much about clutches and the like... I am going to move this thread into General Tech so it gets more traffic and hopefully someone will see it and post up. :)

It's a SPEC performance clutch...stage 2 or 3? Either way, if you read the instructions that came with it, or ask ANY shop, they'll agree they need a solid 450-500 miles break-in before they calm down. These also need to be majority stop and go driving, not highway. No launching on it or taking off hard until that many miles either.

No worries, it's normal!

Thats scary..normally when you buy something you want it to work right out teh box..but i guess breaking it in sounds fair enough.

what all did they do just install the clutch? Did they do anything else like replace the fly wheel or reserface the flywheel? I'm like Ross I don't know much about clutches but I do know a lil bit.

yea we got the flywheel resurfaced, and even got a new slave cylinder. also the clutch came with a new throw out bearing.

A Stage 1??? WOW, something's wrong then! It should engage and disengage like stock! It is possible to put the disc in backwards. Maybe it has a TON of air in the system since they replaced the slave?? Take it back to the shop.

It will take a while to break it in. I took mine to a parking lot and basically re-learned how to take off after I broke it in like 400 miles. There could be a problem though... if the slave wasnt bled enough, misaligned, inside out, etc. I think Patricks was pretty smooth and it was a stage 1 I believe. If you took it to a shop then take it back, if you did it yourself give it a little time and go over what you did.

Yeah stage one should be fine for a stock slave. A stage one is basically stock replacement, but a little better. It does have to break in for a little while though. Mine did the same thing. If it still does it, then check your tranny mount, and see if they put that all back together and tight and stuff. if that doesnt work, then mutha fucking take it back to them, and tell them to fix it. ;)

Stage 2, However, Mine was fairly smooth it actually felt like it was slipping a little but after 500 miles it was working as intended. If you have a lot of shuttering it sounds like something is not installed correctly. As Matt said make sure they did not put the disk in backwords, it's easy to do.
