Hi, My dad just spun a rod bearing in his 1988 chevy chyenne. It is a 4.3 std. with 220k, He is eyeballing a wrecked 1995 with 4.3l std. I told him that the motor should work just need to use the 1988 intake am i correct? The 1995 has different throttle body and composite valve covers and balance shaft but that it huh? Would we need to swap the tb or the whole intake? The 95 is decent 120k with front metal and suspension damage but runs fine, can't tell about the trans or rear b/c it is inop. BUT only $500!! anyway someone with a bit of 4.3 expertise please fill me in...... thanks

also did anyone see that seafoaming, thats awesome. I know alot of the smoke is burning lubricant but alot of them you can see trails of black carbon on the ground. I might try it!

The intake pattern is different. You'd need to use the old style heads.
If it's a TBI (Being 88) I'm sure it is. then under your TBI Intake there will be a plug. If you don't grind that down flat it will hit the ballance shaft.
Your oil pan pattern is also different. You can use the newer allum. oil pan or re-drill the block for the old pattern and use the steel one.
There will be some other slight differences but it's possible... I've done one.
