Hey,
If anyone knows of a host that will source program files. (I thought putfile might, but all I see is video and image hosting)
I've got a self extracting zip file of Desktop Dyno 2000 that I'll give everyone. It's a fun outdated program, and seems accurate enough. Fun to play with cam profiles and head flow data.... and when your really bored you can make a 1200hp big block that goes off the dyno chart.

I have a file for desktop dyno that is pretty close to what a 3.8L can put out... in stock form it shows making 220 hp, its not super accurate to our cars, but throwing in cam profiles for the available cams for our motors really can give people ideas where power will be made...
Maybe try limewire?

Let me know if it doesn't work, I've never used this hosting site before (it sure does have alot of pop-ups) and I'm not sure if I'm linking the right source. I think I DLed this Zip file from Napster or Morpheus back in the day, long before the copywrite lawsuits and been using it since with no problems.

Haha, the 4.3 dyno graphs always make me chuckle because they never have too much HP but the torque is just through the rough. Perfect truck engine, I love mine... it is just in need of some maintenance.

I spent many a night playing that game. I would build 2200hp v12's that revved to 10k rpm & whatnot. I never had much luck with that game and our 3.8 series II though.

How do you post the screen like that?
You can take a screen snapshot at anytime.... press Alt + PrtSc, than open Paint and Ctrl + V and it will paste your screen snapshot in Paint and you can save it as a JPEG file, than upload to photobucket and viola

what does our intake take in for CFM? I put in 400 cfm and the #s look pretty accurate

I'll post my motor combination in a minute.
Dave (3500z) used DDyno for his cam selection on his 3500 Cavi Z. It showed 350hp, and he's making 271whp (~315 crank), but the cam company screwed up his grind a little and could be making a little more.

I always get a trip out of watching the HP & TQ lines jump when you switch back and forth between "Stock exhaust manifolds & mufflers" and "Large headers, open exhaust" on any engine combonation... there's no way it can be that huge of a jump

I already know the intake port on a 3500 head is around 218 (with the manifolds attached). That makes over 1200cfm with 6 cylinders, :woot:...
Right where I have calculated/expected (~250whp)

So the cam specs "@valve" mean intake/exhaust after the rockers right?
edit* I just did my car stock and man this is right on the money.

All cams advertise Lift @ .050" lift.... that is taking into consideration the 1.5 ratio rockers. So yes, if your cam is .465 lift @ .050" lift; that is at the valve. if your using a different ratio rocker arm.... take the advertised lift, devide by 1.5, take new number x 1.52 or 1.6 or 1.7 etc

Ok cool thats what I thought. Another question is the Mercury - is there a way you can measure in water? Thats another part I don't understand. Most flow benches seem to test @ 28" depression (water).
And when you input cam duration, how do you find crank degrees?

Ehh, it's only got 400ft-lbs :P . How is the turbo/engine build coming John? You should be getting really damned close by this point I would guess... at least to getting it up and running NA.

Cam-less at the moment - that and the SBC roller rocker conversion is going to hold me up a bit.
For the turbo parts, just missed a set of eight 120# injectors that sold on a racing board.
$320 :eek: that's like taking candy from a baby, they had 15 passes on them.:dammit:
Alway seems like good deals come around when cash is tight, and not when shopping... Murphy's Law I guess.
