ive been talking with my dad this week about my turbo build and he thinks it would be a good idea...although hes been trying to bond with me on a project and he told me he would love to build an lt1 with me as a project and then swap it into my car...
(if youve read this far and say ls1 or nothing then dont comment)
he told me he would split the costs with me for the whole project and were gunna rebuild a motor from scratch...what are your comments? i mean it is my dad and he wants to spend time with me..and all the parts for my turbo build wont go to waste as ill just get a bigger turbo for the lt1....
o and a list of everything so i can price the swap will help..

An LT1 would be pretty difficult and pointless to swap into an LS1 car. I'm not saying LS1 or nothing, just that it makes pretty much no sense to put an LT1 in your car.

have you told him the ls1 would diminish a lot of mounting problems, computer problems etc?
is it a price thing? cuz like i know an lt1 is definetly cheaper...

tell him you want to bond building a turbo v6.
my dad fought me the entire way "why dont we just shove in a carbed v8"
after the engien was running, he was more than excited that we put together a v6.

That may be for higher mileage engines...but new, the LS1 engines and parts are cheaper in general.....and the parts have MUCH better availability for the LS1!
