So has anyone tried to put one into a 3rd gen I have a 1990 firebird trans am that was once a v8 and is now a carbed 2.8 and by the time I am done with the 3.4 swap I was talking about in the 60* section I thought about buying a setup from a parted out 96 rs of a buddy of mine that is sitting in his salvage yard, It has absolutley everthing but the back half of the car so I was wondering what you guys thought?

I too wanna know this, cuz i have a 83 firebird 2.8 sitting in my yard waiting for an engine swap...i would think u could being that the 89 trans am had the 3.8 option even though it was different then 4th gen 3.8's.

well its only 500 bucks for everthing I need where as the 3.4 swap would be intake, carb, headers, cam and then stock 3.8 power so I am leaning towards this since he is shooting me such a good deal for every damn thing I would need I think I will call him later this could make my winter vacation more interesting ;)

I know what a supercharger and a turbo is but not a t/c's

I have seen somewhere I thikn it was a hot rodding magazine that had a big block chevy with a 6-71 style blower and twin turbos -------  oooo it was interesting I have wondered about this for along time on a smaller engine if it would be something to look into

Go for that conversion. I was thinking about doing that one day. It would be pretty cool to see a 3.8 in a Camaro. You might be able to use the mounts from a TTA if they have the same mounts. You got a tranny that will work, so it might not be that bad.

I will have everything including tranny, harness, computer, I will most likely try and use the 96 3.8 motor mounts somehow, etc. I talked to my buddy and bought the car so in a month I will have it delivered to my shop at home and start working on it in the winter, and hopefully drive it around college in the spring

then something later along the lines of merlins theories will/might happen

I will with the n/a motor until later when I try your idea, then I will be going with a 97/98 pcm and a some sort of blower like a 114:secret: m90 a little small with all the extra room;)
