you won't need to change the rear end, suspension, or radiator.

radiator i believe so..suspension no, but is recommended, the v8 suspension is all upgraded from ours, so go ahead and upgrade that with umi/spohn etc.. and the rear, it all depends on what you have now

my rear is the GU4 rpo code which is 3.08 i think

so im guessing i wound need to upgrade the rear

my suspension is shot anyway so i will be upgrading to v8 parts

double check the radiator part number, i really don't think it needs to be swapped.

you can run a 3.08, the donor car might come with a 2.73, 3.23, or 3.42 if the rear is stock.

i thought i heard somewhere you had to swap the radiator, maybe its the radiator shroud, or fans or something

most people i have talked to spent about 2500 on a wrecked trans am with less then 50000

what is a good deal on a wrecked car? ive never shopped for a wrecked car before lol. I need to know so that i can jump on a deal when i come accross one

Honestly it varies. I think it depends on where the damage was to the car, and if any of the powertrain could have been damaged.

I dont know what a junkyard will charge you. But if its from pick n pull, you can expect the gas tank and oil pan to have a hole punched in it.

I wouldnt be suprised if you payed 3k for one. You could very easily sale the engine and trans for $2500+ depending on miles.

Get a 01-02, you will get a ls6 intake and possibly a ls6 block.

Definitely don't get a 98.. no one wants those and those are the worst of the LS1's.. A lot of people that have them end up swapping to a 99 and up computer... If you can have your pick, definitely get an 01 or 02 because they come with the LS6 intake, as said above, and have the 28# injectors.. the 98 and 99 also had them i believe, but the 00 stepped down to 26#..

You also don't need the fuel pump, there's a way around it if you use a corvette fuel filter and route a return... not too sure about the details, but that's what was done to mine.. maybe you can find some reading on it..

You'll need the front springs, gauge cluster is optional if you can get the computer flashed to get the LS1 to read according to the V6 cluster... thats what i'm doing at the moment..

Around here if the people at the junk yards even feel you're going to be doing something for performance purposes, they'll double the price of whatever you're buying. One junk yard won't even answer any questions unless you tell them why you're looking for whatever engine.
