will lt1 bolt up to my tranny?

i'm thinking about geting an lt1 for my car. i have 97 firebird and it has the 3800 engine and 5 speed tranny in it. would the lt1 work with my tranny as long as i change out the bell housing? i will down the road buy a new drive train.

differeth bolt pattern. more educated members can comment as to if the tranny will bolt to our bellhousing or not

no it will not fit, need the v8 tranny or a t56

Like everyone else is saying.. No they with not bolt together..
Just find ya T-56, i got one for $900 with everything i need to swap over in my LT1 car.. :)
