i have a used reverse flow ls1 i can pick up on the cheap...complete motor ..even has all the sensors...also have a 700r4 out of a newer vette for it.....i know i'd need a new crossmember, rear end, ecm and wiring harness but i have some great junkyards here in mississippi....the car currently has a 3.4 v6 in it......what problmes can i watch for doing this swap? any help would be apprieciated

EDIT. ok my dad told me wrong...it is an lt1 he found .not an ls1

a lt1 is still a hell of alot better than a 3.4 v6 you can still beat gts pretty easily with em

i was about to ask what a reverse flow LS1 was.

biggest problems are going to be sourcing parts and time. otherwise nothing is in your way. just keep in mind that EVERYTHING mechanical is going to come out of your car.

Here are a couple of good sites that might help you and others on what is needed for the project.

For hpsalvage see the swap tips link.

If you want an LS1, buy a car with the motor already in it. I hope you and your dad are master mechanics if you want to attempt that swap. There is so much involved that you have no idea about.

reverse flow meant that the LS1's had opposite coolant flow vs the LT1's ... (block to head) vs (head to block)

The LT1 is the reverse flow motor (head to block), not LS1. Other than that the above is correct. It is reverse flow because the traditional flow is from block to head.
