ok, so i got a gtp motor donated too me, and im fairly confident that i can perform the swap. i know that im going to be doing a little custom work to the throttle body, but im not sure if the wiring harness from the l67engine will mate correctly to the l36 harness for the rest of the car.
how do i note boost in the car via a gauge. how do i wire that up. has anyone wired a standalone boost gauge to the l67.
what other wiring problems may i encounter when trying to mate the engine to the rest of the car.
can i use the existing l36 wiring harness to compleet the process.
if anyone has done this please send me some info, anything that may help. thanks

You can stick with the L36 harness. You just need an L67 MAP and need to wire in the BBV. Or you can leave the L36 MAP and leave the BBV alone and let it actuate off of vaccum.
For the boost gauge you just need to "T" off of a vaccum source. It's pretty simple. Have fun with your project.

my family is big into n/a so could you decode the acronyms. you said that i eed a map too, dose the l36 not have one of those? i also saw that zzp has a harness for cwappin the l67 into the l36, is that what i need?

ZZP"s kit is for a Grand Prix..I don't think it'll be a direct swap for your car. There are too many differences. Especially since yours is a 96.

thats what im talking about. it says that its not car specific. im gonna use the gtp computer and i guess that im using the harness as well. i think that i will talk to zzp soon.
why do you segregate mine for being a 96? is there a diference that im not aware about?

Get a custom PCM made. The computer for the GTP will not work correctly with your trans.

damm, i knew that was going to happen. i guess that i will be getting that 97 pcm of mine tuned anyway.

There is no reason to use the GTP harness. The L36 --> L67 swap kit will work fine. Its just an adapter for the MAP sensor and connection for the Boost Bypass Valve. The BBV connection is just a pink wire that is spliced into the coilpack ignition harness and a pin that goes to number 61 or 63 on the PCM. That is all you need.
