yea yea, i know everyone hates these threads, about people asking how they can put an LS1 in their car, ect.
well, i was wondering, would it be hard to put a regular SBC 350 in there?
Im not sure how alike the LS1 and a regular SBC are, and i have never seen anyone ask this question (other than a 454 BBC)
so, is it hard, or is it the same as the LS1?

they are not alike at all.
i think it would be easier if you were building a race car but harder if you want the car to be your DD.

probably have to revert back to a fully hydraulic transmission, no ABS, new gauges, new cooling system, new fuel system, new fuel tank and pump, among other things... it would be a lot of work for sure, which is why i say it wouldn't be worth it for a daily.

i have done this to an 86 camaro, im not sure about the blocks, but im sure the engine mounts and mounting is the same. you should only need an engine and tranny. you will have to change the motor mounts to sbc mounts because the v6 mounts will push the engine too close to the fire wall, and you will have tranny and engine clearance issues. do you plan on making it fuel injected? if so a stand alone would be pretty simple, a kit from sdsefi.com is cheap and easy to install, thats what i run on my GTO. if you want to run a carb, it is also not too much of a problem. If you want any more info just pm me. I did the swap, and even ran a borg warner super T10.

rally is right i wouldnt do it on a daily driver, but fuel pump, u can run a mechanical, you can change to a ls1 radiator, or just make some new hoses(not recommended as the v6 has the inlet and outlet on the opposite top and bottom) and you could install a 700r4 tranny
