Ok guys I've heard a few people ask about differences between the Holden M90 and th Gen5 M90. So fortunately for us we have a few pics that we got via Adrian at ChevTorque. So If I can get them down to a reasonable sized kb I'll get them up. Six in all should be enough. One at a time till I work out how to put up more than one.

Cheers

Ok Manifold lower very simular except for about 25mm longer in the big discharge port hole. The rest is the same again bigger in the discharge port area.
Also the rotors on the gen 5 have a coating on them. With the obvious difference in the inlet tract.

More. The white line across the back of the Gen5 is about where the Holden M90 finishes its inlet.

And again. The difference in inlets - Gen5 on the left / Holden on the right.

well after lookin and lookin and even holdin stuff to the screen, they bolt patterns are the same. Some holes have some extra metal around them, but tho 10 or 11 holes to attach it to the LIM are all the same location. I noticed the pcv and another hole on the us version is all one and they are 2 holes on the aussie version. An aussie blower should bolt right up to ab L67 or even a L32 LIM

Yes this is true as the top pic is of the US & OZ LIM side by side and the holes etc are identical. As was the gasket that came with the US one, it was also the same apart from the larger blower port area (25mm approx. longer). A OZ M90 would bolt straight on.:)

Where in the world can one snag an intake from the Holden M90? I wouldn't mind messing around with that and my V6 Camaro

Hard to come by really, I picked up the blower / inlet elbow and a new throttle body off ebay OZ for $1475 AUD.
You need the lot as the elbow will only work on the OZ M90.
I'm told you can buy them new for $1600 without the elbow and throttle in OZ from the General Motors Holden Parts. Then add another few $ for the elbow then freight to your side of the pond and it starts to add up.

Don't have a friend on holidays in OZ, maybe easier to take one back.:dammit:

Look at the pics in post #10.

If you were wanting to install a M90 into a RWD, with the American M90 and its straight inlet tract it would run into the firewall. if you look at the Aussie M90 it has the U-Bend Inlet tract because all our L67 equipped vehicles are RWD's and the engines sit north/south as opposed to your FWD's that sit east/west.

The Aussie M90 is no more efficient than your Gen3 M90, just the different shape inlet.

You guys with the FWD's are lucky because you got the Gen5 M90 in the L32 equipped vehicles. But unfortunately GM-Holden Australia did not continue with the L32 into the Aussie cars. So we didn't get the up rated M90.
The Gen5 is about 2 psi better than the Gen3 Aussie or American M90.

I noticed in the photos that the US supercharger is a series 5 (gen 5), i have seen US M90's that have a shorter intake neck and look like with some simple engineering you could make a u bend pipe which would enable it to be put onto an Aussie RWD V6

I still think there may not be enough room as the Oz M90's inlet tract into the blower is elongated after the round section of the throttle body. This I figure is to get the flow through the narrow bend that was required.
The pic you posted appears to be maybe about 25mm shorter than the gen5 m90.
