when my engine dies whenever that comes i was considering putting a v-8 in their maybe like a 350 small block or somethin. i know that id have to change the wiring harnes and the transmision. but could i pull this off without doin any frame work. or maybe just minor frame work>?

you would have to either add new motor mounts to the k-member or buy an entirely new k-member with the proper mount.

An LS1 would probably be easiest, but that too would require a new k-member along with a few other random parts.

^^^plus the entire cooling system I thought. Maybe thats just the LT1 coversion. But I heard the V6 cooling runs counter to the V8.

^^^plus the entire cooling system I thought. Maybe thats just the LT1 coversion. But I heard the V6 cooling runs counter to the V8.that is correct, but he claimed he knew about some things that would have to be switched, PCM, harness, tranny, fuel system, etc.

if you are thinking of going to a carbureted V8, you will not pass state inspection. i don't know of anybody that will touch that.

Yeah if yo're going to swap just do an LS1...its "easiest" as far as swaps are concerned on our cars by a long shot. You can get all the parts for a few grand...its just a matter of throwin em in.

man swapping over to a carb sb would be cool as shit. I wouldn't do it in my car but definantly if I had a spare 98+ V6.

I will be doing this within the next year or so. I would like to find a wrecked 99 SS or 99 WS6 Firebird with 6 speeds so i have a entire donor car. Would be nice!!

$400 for a kmember on ebay? It better be an aftermarket chromoly one. You could probably find a stock used one for $25. Try LS1tech for sale section or a junkyard.
